Kongsberg Automotive, department Hvittingfoss, seeks talented and enthusiastic people who want to be involved in producing components for tomorrow's vehicles. We offer a strong corporate culture with a focus on innovation, teamwork and effective manufacturing processes.
We are now looking for a Quality Engineer with a good understanding of the subject who want to ensure that that production delivers parts according to the quality standards. We want you who have a mindset of customer satisfaction and service improvement.
Responsibilities
• Customer satisfaction in resolution and containment of concerns
• Ensure that the manufactured parts meet the customer quality standards
• Act as the primary liaison for customer PPAP submissions related to New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product/Process Change Requests (PPCR)
Main tasks
• Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with customer representatives.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives to ensure production consistency and minimize the impact of non-conformities.
• Monitor and manage scrap levels in the assigned production area, including daily follow-ups and action plans to reduce waste.
• Handle customer complaints using structured problem-solving methodologies to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and implement procedures, conduct internal audits, and establish control plans to maintain quality standards.
• Provide training and raise awareness among operators to promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality ownership.
• Identify, prioritize, and implement opportunities to improve customer satisfaction.
• Control and manage non-conforming materials both at the customer site and in transit, including coordinating third-party containment services when necessary.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to prepare, submit, and manage PPAP/PSW documentation for NPI, PPCR, and customer approval.
Education/Experience
• Higher education holding a bachelor’s degree in related field Experience
• Knowledge of international quality standards and GD&T.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949:2016 (desirable).
• Experience with NPI, change control processes, and quality issue resolution.
Skills
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• SAP
Language skills:
• English fluent written and oral
• Need to understand and be able to communicate in a Scandinavian language.
Personal skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle competing deadlines.
• Practical knowledge of problem-solving tools.
• Drivers license class B (there are no public transport to the plant/facility)
