Stillingsbeskrivelse
NG Nordic is a leading Nordic provider of circular solutions and environmental services. By transforming waste into valuable resources and removing hazardous substances from circulation, we are avoiding emissions, protecting natural ecosystems and scaling access to circular materials. NG Nordic is a vital part of the Nordic industrial infrastructure, generating EUR 1,3 billion in revenue with a team of about 3,400 employees and 90 sites.
We are building a new procurement organization to unlock cost synergies, drive operational excellence, and support the future growth of NG Nordic. Join us on this journey and help shape the future of a leading sustainability company.
The Role: IT Category Manager
We are seeking an IT Category Manager to lead cost-saving initiatives, optimize procurement processes, and design the IT category strategy for NG Nordic's new procurement organization. In this key role, you will ensure efficiency, compliance, and sustainability while fostering close collaboration with IT team to establish best-in-class standards for procuring IT products and services. You will have group wide responsibility and report directly to the Procurement Director and work closely with IT Leadership team. Success in this dynamic, post-merger environment requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a passion for driving change.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and develop the category strategy for the IT category, including items such as software, hardware and IT services
• Manage cost-savings targets for IT spend by identifying and executing cost-saving initiatives at group and platform level, leveraging synergies across platforms
• Establish and refine procurement processes, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management in the IT category
• Drive the development of a well-structured post-merger organization for IT spend by fostering strategic collaboration across platforms and ensuring adherence to best practices
• Ensure compliance with regulations, trade policies, and sustainability standards, incl. drive initiatives to comply with Group ESG goals and reduce CO2 emissions
Your professional qualifications:
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in procurement, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or category management, with a proven track record of delivering cost savings and implementing category initiatives, preferably related to IT spend
• Expertise in supplier selection, contract negotiation, relationship management, and contract management
• Strong analytical capabilities and experience with strategic procurement tools and methodologies
• Relevant courses and certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, or similar) are an advantage but not mandatory
• Ability to be understood in written and spoken English, with knowledge of a Nordic language considered an advantage
We look for someone with the following qualities:
• Analytical: You utilize data-driven insights to develop long-term strategies and deliver measurable results
• Influential: You build strong relationships with stakeholders and effectively drive alignment across platforms
• Change-oriented: You exhibit strong grit and a "change management mindset," fostering transformation in a dynamic, post-merger organization
• Result-driven: You have strong will to deliver results and gain savings for the company
What we offer:
• A chance to work in a sustainable, future-oriented company, where your work contributes to a socially important field
• An inclusive work culture that values collaboration, knowledge sharing, and diverse perspectives
• Opportunities for continuous learning through regular training and professional growth opportunities
• A supportive and engaging social environment
• Flexible hybrid working arrangement with office location in Oslo, Norway
